The opposite of fear is faith. That is a true statement, so here is a new perspective to think about… faith that if I look stupid… people that know me still love me... faith that if I am rejected… those people don’t know what they are missing out on and I will show them love anyways... faith that God will bring great people into my life that I can be close with... faith that if I do get hurt by people… God’s love can heal all wounds. This was put on my heart not only for me, but hopefully for some of you too.
Perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18
As a precious child of God, the perfect love of Christ lives within us. If we are living in that love from day to day… moment to moment there is no room for fear. Think of how much Christ went through for you, for me, because He loved us so. In those times when you feel like curling up in a ball and hiding from whatever is to come next in your life… find inspiration in the Words of our Heavenly Father.
"For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is mighty to save.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, He will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17
Does this make you shout for joy? His love will calm All your fears! Are you ready to hand them over to Him? He rejoices with joyful song over you! Can you feel His presence?
Take a moment to go to a place of just you and Him… let Him sweep you off your feet and hold you in His arms until those fears have dissipated. What a powerful picture… what an incredible experience! Open up more of your heart to His love and He will close the door to fear.
I pray that your faith will be increased with every new day and through every trial that comes along. May you never forget all the troubling times your Savior pulled you through in the past. He is always faithful… He will never leave you. I pray you will not be shaken by doubts or insecurities the enemy tries to throw at you, because you have placed your faith in Him! May you be His faithful servant. Step out in faith! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
